Butcher cows continued their meteoric climb, as top end cows traded $5-8 higher again. Good fleshed kill cows traded from $240-248! The morning high was a big black cow that returned $4910. Lean cows traded from $218-230. Holstein cows traded from $185-198 on limited quality. Good bulls topped out at $250ish which is also fully steady to last weeks market. Feeder cattle continued to trade with excellent demand. Most classes traded $5-10 higher this week with futures climbing throughout the week. Demand for beef has also increased and fat cattle prices have improved as well.
The market on lambs, sheep, and goats also returned with fully steady prices. Good kid goats were sharply higher this week.

Horned cattle are beginning to be discounted more and more all the time. If you want your cattle to bring a premium price they must be horn free.
If you are planning on selling calves in the next month or so, please call ahead to book your cattle with us. If we know how many cattle are coming it allows us to inform buyers so they can have adequate trucks available.

A REMINDER TO PRODUCERS TO GET YOUR PREMISE ID NUMBERS FROM THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS GOING TO BECOME MANDATORY IN 2020. ALL PRODUCERS WILL NEED TO FILL OUT MANIFESTS WHENEVER THEY TRANSPORT CATTLE FROM HOME TO EITHER AUCTION MARTS OR PASTURES. THESE MANIFESTS WILL HAVE TO INCLUDE YOUR PREMISE ID NUMBERS AS PART OF THE NEW NATIONAL TRACIBILITY PROGRAM.
